In the grounds of Tocal Ag College Dachshtober Longdog Festival is all about sausage dogs.
WHAT IS DACHSHTOBER?
Dachshtober Longdog Festival aims to bring together owners of sausage dogs from all over the country. This event was initiated to raise awareness and funds for the research of IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease) which is prevalent in the Dachshund breed.
This is a fun, family event welcoming visitors and businesses from the local community, the region, the state and beyond.
Join them for The Longdog Dash, fancy dress competitions, stalls with everything 'dogcentric', great food and beverages, information, education and an attempt at the world record for the largest number of sausage dogs at one event.
IVDD support and information
We at Dachshtober Longdog Festival proudly support all the hard work that DISA (Dachshund IVDD Support Australia ) does in helping to educate dachshund families on this horrendous debilitating disease. DISA is also a wealth of information on alternatives to surgery and resources available to support families struggling after the diagnosis , from support to a sharing network for equipment to help dachshunds who are in recovery stages.

Whilst the day is all about Longdogs we also want their hoomans to have a good time. You will be able to eat, drink, shop and laugh your way around the festival.

Bring along your 'best mate'
Of course you should bring along your Dachshund. After all, the day is all about them! Though for the comfort and safety of all, some conditions apply.
This is a public event where young children and other dogs will be present, so please be mindful of these conditions.
